DLJ Entertainment is saddened to report the passing of the great trumpeter Wallace Roney, one of the principal artists on our roster of talent. The effects of the Corona Virus (COVID 19) Pandemic have claimed the life of one of the creative driving forces in modern jazz. His extraordinary pioneering Grammy Award – winning legacy as a composer, recording artist, and bandleader over the past 40 plus years, has enriched our lives and that of countless generations of jazz fans the world – over.
The career contributions of Wallace Roney exemplifies a brand of performance excellence that is simply a cut above the ordinary — he was a talent that excelled at the vanguard of performance innovation. His artistry elevated the senses and enhanced the human experience. We, at DLJ Entertainment, wish to convey our sincere heartfelt sympathies and condolences to his wife Dawn and the entire Roney family.
